Is Michael Pollan Vegan?

As veteran activists well know, a smart person who does not care can philosophically "justify" anything he wants to, especially when he knows no one is going to slit his throat in the name of symbiosis with other species.

Michael Pollan is a case in point. Here you can read his case for humane murdering, raping and stealing. While reading, one cannot help but think that the only thing Michael Pollan really cares about, in regards to animal exploitation and factory farms, is not the hideous suffering involved but rather how he - Michael Pollan - can continue his high-level life without feeling morally reprehensible.

Do you think Michael Pollan knows, for example, that to steal mother's milk from another species is wrong, and that for us, to consume it after infancy is an absurd? As rational as he is, we think the answer is obvious. So why does he support this shameful act and other forms of nonhumans exploitation?
